All doctors completing their residency in the UK in a medical speciality must possess the MRCP(UK) diploma. The Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom Diploma is a general medicine membership test shared by the three Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom. Candidates who successfully complete all three components are entitled to apply for the MRCP(UK) Diploma.

MRCP(UK) New MembersAdmission Ceremonies

Upon successful completion of the MRCP (UK) examination, candidates would be invited to attend a ceremony for new members of the RCP in Regent’s Park where the new MRCP(UK) holders will receive their certificates from the RCP President.

Election to Membership

A candidate must successfully complete a form of faith and the MRCP(UK) in order to be elected to membership. Election can start if the form of faith has been accepted, confirmed and processed successfully.

Presentation of MRCP(UK) Diploma

The MRCP(UK) diploma is provided to candidates who have been elected to membership at the MRCP(UK) new members ceremony or via mail.

After being voted to membership, candidates should anticipate receiving their diploma within six weeks. However, timelines can change. For delivery of the diploma to locations outside of the UK, please allow three to six months.

Delivery of MRCP(UK) Diploma

For diplomas sent only within the UK, the RCP utilises the “signed for” service offered by Royal Mail. Diplomas will be sent by regular mail since they cannot be traced when they are going to addresses outside of the UK. Candidates are strongly recommended to check that the correspondence information in their MRCP(UK) online account is accurate and current in order to prevent any loss or delays of the item.

Candidates are urged to send a request to the email address below if they need a new diploma. Unless the person is a Fellow of any of the three Royal Colleges, in which case there will be no fee, there will be a £35.00 charge. After processing the cost, a replacement diploma should be given out in two weeks.
In case of any query, please contact your college of entry at their official email addresses. Your diploma will be in the possession of the college of entry where you last took a test i.e. the Part 2 Written and they will be in charge of any distribution or reprints.
